Lessons from the Temple

Yesterday, Tom and I attended the Temple. The week leading up I had been feeling rather disgruntled with myself. My weaknesses were so blaring I couldn’t see my strengths. I carried these feelings of inadequacy to the temple, and at first they were only added to as once again I fought unsuccessfully to stay awake. However, at the end I felt this overwhelming feeling of love and peace and the impression from God that He loves me and wants me to just keep trying. I felt humbled that an individual as powerful and divine as God would welcome me into His house, and accept me as His.

This afternoon as I read this talk I was again flooded with feelings of love, and reminders that God loves me and yes, He wants me to keep stretching myself- but not at the expense of my own happiness. I wanted to share this quote:

“Sisters, wherever you are, whatever your circumstances may be, you are not forgotten. No matter how insignificant you may feel, no matter how overshadowed you think you may be, your Heavenly Father has not forgotten you. In fact, He loves you with an infinite love. Just think of it: You are known and remembered by the most majestic, powerful, and glorious being in the universe! You are loved by the King of infinite space and everlasting time!” -Dieter F. Uchdorf, Apostle
