I love my neices!

I returned home at 9:45 this evening after a long day and a long week to find two letters in my mailbox. One was an adorable drawing from Ryanna featuring the two of us surrounded by trees. The other was a card made by Capriel with 4 o’clock seeds gathered by Talia and Sabina. It made my evening! Thank you.

A few other things while I’m posting:

Getti inspired me and I decided to try planting some seeds. For FHE we went to Home Depot and bought a various mixture of veggie and flower seeds and then we planted them in plastic cups. Right now they are in the “germinating” process so hopefully there is a whole lot going on under the soil that I just can’t see yet. I’ll be delighted if anything comes up. I also planted some wheat grass. Which on day three still looks rather bleek, but I’ll be patient. (Does it need sun?!) That may be the issue, or perhaps that the wheat is around 25 years old. Hmm. I just hope it comes up because I bought this amazing wood sculpture/pot to plant it in.

I went and got my hair cut yesterday- yup actually paid someone to do it. There is a girl in our ward who cuts hair, and after seeing several of the girls’ hair that she had done, I was sold. It has been just over a year since I had my hair cut professionally so I figured it was about time. I was going to just go for a bit shorter layers, but the same general look that I also do, but she convinced me to go with the long bob. I’ll have to take some pictures, but that’s for later- I’m in no state for pictures right now! I love it, and I am really looking forward to playing around with it more.

The last exciting news is that I am probably going to get a job working as a music director at a local arts academy. My friend Claire recommended me, and I’m thrilled because hopefully it will get me into exactly what I want to do- direct community musicals. It also looks like I will have a job with them over the summer- which would be great. The pay is better than Avon, and the job has the potential of being more mixed up. There are group classes, musical coaching, orchestra directing, and hopefully some theatrical directing. Currently the husband of the woman who runs the place directs the large shows, but maybe I can help out with the musicals the kids from preschool-middle school put on? We’ll see.
