Basement progress

The basement is getting closer and closer!!! Here’s a few pictures to give you an idea of the updates. Plus a few pictures with attached pleas for help.

First, I painted a bunch of colors that we have elsewhere in our house. Just if you’re curious. The orange will be accents in the nursery, the khaki is in the living room, the blue is the nursery color. The yellow was our first attempt for the kitchen color- it got nixed however, and the final color is what we have in our master bathroom. Kind of fun to see them all side by side. I really liked the palatte of the left four colors. So I thought, I’ll paint the wall with the fireplace blue, the rest of the walls khaki and then accent with the orange and  yellow. Well the khaki turns out to be hideous next to the blue when painted in mass. Fortunately, I only painted a portion of one wall before I realized this!

So off to Sherwin williams I went. I ended up with this color- softer tan. This is actually 75% of softer tan, it is in no means my favorite color. It’s much much cooler than the rest of my house, but it does have a white washed- beachy feel that looks good with the blue. I’ll just have to get some driftwood decor in here!

Now for the plea- which carpet color?

For the laugh- when I painted part of the wall khaki I thought, hey I already have this roller dirty and the wall by the stairs has several places that need to be touched up, I’ll go do that now. The paint can said “hallway” (which was 60% of the khaki in the living room.) Well as you can see, the can was labeled incorrectly- this is obviously not the 60% version. So much for saving on cleaning out a roller!

And a little fall decor. It would help if I had some larger things for the sides of the mantel, but oh well. I like the minimalistic look, and I adore my”Give Thanks” sign- Thanks Lauren!!
